Pentland Hills Walks

Winter Wander Series | Pentlands Navigation Courses

We have spent many a day and evening in the Pentlands exploring these wonderful hills on the edge of Edinburgh, and we would like to share that with you. The Pentland Hills regional park consists of many small to medium sized hills that don’t just provide some great hillwalking, but also some spectacular views of the city.

5 Peaks of the Pentland Hills

Pentlands 5 Peaks Walk Jan ‘22

5 Peaks of the Pentlands

A classic day out in the Pentland Hills. The route takes on five peaks including the highest of the Pentlands, Scald Law. We traverse across, West Kip, East Kip, Scald Law, Carnethy Hill & Turnhouse Hill.

Starting near Silverburn, we will aim to drop cars at Flotterstone, and either catch the bus along the road or drive a single car up to the start point. From here it’s a gentle track through the valley into the Bealach between West Kip and Cap Law before we start our traverse of the five summits, finishing back at the Flotterstone.

The walk gives fantastic views, not just of the Pentlands, but as far out as the Ochills & Ben Ledi on a clear day.
