Loch Mullardoch 4
One of Scotland’s most iconic ridge walks begins at the shores of Loch Mullardoch, deep in Glen Cannich. This spectacular guided route carries you over four towering Munros — Meall a’ Chrasgaidh, Sgurr na Lapaich, An Socach, and Carn Eighe. Each summit offers its own dramatic perspectives of glens, lochs, and peaks across Strathfarrar and Glen Affric. Expect a full day of wild mountain paths, airy ridges, and breathtaking Highland panoramas — a true adventure in one of Scotland’s most remote mountain ranges.
Fitness: The day is a very long walk. Good hill fitness & head for heights will be required.
Duration: 10-12 hours
Location: Carpark next to Dam
Meet Time: 6:45am to start at 7am
Strathfarrar Round
For those seeking another classic challenge, the Strathfarrar round is a stunning circuit covering four Munros in one of the Highlands’ most secluded areas. Starting deep within the peaceful glen of Strathfarrar, this route winds through remote corries, airy ridges, and rugged boulderfields to summits including Sgurr a’ Choire Ghlais, Sgurr Fhuar-thuill, Beinn Fhionnlaidh, and Sgurr na Ruaidhe. Along the way, you’ll enjoy sweeping views over Loch Monar, neighbouring peaks of Loch Mullardoch, Strathcarron, and some of the most untouched landscapes in Scotland.
Due to the locked gate at the entrance to Glen Strathfarrar and to make the most of the day, we meet at the carpark next to the gate and use a couple of cars to bypass the road section of this walk, maximising time for the mountain walk itself. We coordinate with the group in advance to ensure sufficient vehicles are available on the day.
Fitness: The day is a long walk. Good hill fitness & head for heights will be required.
Duration: 7-10 hours
Location: Carpark at entrance gate to Glen Strathfarrer
Meet Time: 8.45am
